October’s 3B’s, and… What if we go on vacation?
J- What’s happening in October?
M- You mean you haven’t heard yet?!
Good grief, you really are out of it, Jesús.
J- I spend all my time making furniture, totally focused on work, María.
What do you want me to say?
I don’t even have time to look at my phone.
What I need is a proper vacation,
to just sit back and contemplate things… I’m at my limit.
M- Really? You haven’t heard?
You really have your head in the clouds!
Your friends are already packing their bags and looking for tickets.
J- Where are they going now?
But August was just a moment ago…
M- Those were just “micro-vacations”;
people don’t really travel as much in August anymore, with the heat…
It’s trendy now to take the *real* trips when not *everyone* is on vacation—
airports get so overcrowded then.
J- I don’t know much about trends—
can’t you see I’m still wearing my old tunic?—
but tell me… where are they going?
Maybe I… could slip away;
I’m tired of making so many tables.
M- To the Red Sea!
Good, nice, and cheap—
from October 10th to the 17th.
J- You don’t say! I love the Red Sea!
I’d go back there in a heartbeat…
And what are they going to do?
M- Oh, Jesús! Don’t you know your friend Ana?
Diving! That’s the only reason she travels.
They’re going on a luxury liveaboard to dive.
J- I’m so envious… but in a good way, you know?
Seeing all those colorful little fish—
I love fish so much…
And is Moisés going?
M- I don’t know if Moi will… because last time things went totally haywire with the Israelis…
But there’s a nice international group—people from Mexico, Spain,
the US, Canada, the Netherlands…
and they’re going on an expedition to the Brothers Islands.
I’ve already seen some flight deals…
J- Come on! If Ana’s going, it’ll be well-organized and fun.
I trust her! We’re going to a diving paradise—
we’re going to the Brothers, a place I haven’t been to yet.
Count me in!
Taking a vacation is a must!
M- I confess I’ve already booked it…
since I saw there were only 5 spots left…
J- María… and we had enough savings for both of us?
It’s true—the Red Sea is the best: good, beautiful, and a bargain!
You’re a saint, María!
What would I do without you?
M- But bring your wetsuit, okay?
That old thing you wore last time was a disaster…
You’ve got to modernize a bit, at least.
(And I’ll tell her about the Galapagos trip in March later on,
so she doesn’t get stressed about the money.
That one really broke the piggy bank—and I had to borrow some…
but hey, you only live once.)
